AC Arc Welder is well-used in many countries for its simple structure, reasonable price, low break-down rate and long service life. Second (welding loop) empty load voltage may cause accident. The AC Arc Welder second empty load voltage will not cause electric-shock accident with casualty in general when it’s second empty load voltage in 50-80VAC. But in a narrow metal space or humid condition (for example the OCV is 50V), electric-shock about 30min may kill.

No-load loss is great and the energy source is wasted. Generally, AC Arc Welding Transformers all are high leakage transformers for their large empty load current and low power factor. Power factor is almost in0.3~0.5, and the empty load is only in0.1~0.2, so the empty load loss is bigger.
